One day this week, (I forget exactly which), there were so many things that needed to be done, that I couldn't possibly do them all. I was needed to feed and watch a 4 month old, watch 2 different toddlers, spend time with a 2 year old who was by herself, choose and wrap presents for a 12th birthday, and that wasn't even half of what was needed during the day.
So I guess this post is a plea to others to consider volunteering at a hospital. They really need volunteers to help the kids and families staying there! It's not scary (as I thought it might be), the kids in the hospital are just kids who want a little attention, or something to do during the day. Any time spent as a volunteer is greatly appreciated by the nurses because the tasks that a volunteer does are just a few less things for the nurses to have on their todo lists. Beyond that, its actually fun to be a volunteer!
