One last post for the Week

One day this week was almost entirely dedicated to a 6 month old. Her mother was not there, she was in a strange environment, and honestly wanted nothing to do with napping. This is bad news for anyone who has ever taken care of a 6 month old before! I tried to play with her, I fed her, her diaper was changed.... nothing would help this baby calm down enough for her nap. Her nurses and doctors checked her out, she was fine, just scared and unhappy to be in this strange place. Her exhaustion actually came to a point that she would put her head on my shoulder, fall asleep and wake herself up crying. Eventually, I found a mobile that played music, and that was enough to calm her so that she would fall asleep. Yay!

On a separate note. Remember how all those long term kids went home on Monday? Well, with them came the toys. It is hospital policy that all toys that enter a patient's room must be cleaned before being put back in the playroom. The long term kids all had a ton of stuff in their rooms, and guess who had to clean it all? I have to be honest, cleaning was a big on the boring side, I'd much rather be with kids, but at least they now have a ton more toys to play with!
