Day Three of Senior Projects!

Today was a much easier day because I only took two classes; a classic cardio class and a yoga class. Both of these classes went by very quickly and were taught by instructors who consistently stopped working out in order to help other people.

The main moves in the classic cardio class were side steps, heel touches, grapevines, and knee lifts. We had to sing to the songs, like It’s Raining Men by The Weather Girls and Sugar Pie Honey Bunch by The Four Tops while we were dancing to make sure that we were still breathing. Towards the end we did standing abs where we would bend into a typical crunch but stand in a squat position. It was very fun and didn’t really feel like I was exercising, which of course, is the best kind of workout.

The yoga class I took was extremely relaxing. I’ve taken other yoga classes and those normally consisted of going from downward facing dog to upward for the entire hour class. However, in this class we did many stretches and other yoga poses that hit almost every single part of the body. I was challenged and often the instructor came to move my leg or back so I could feel a deeper stretch. The end of yoga was my favorite part because we got to lay back and close our eyes for a solid ten minutes and just lay there. Tomorrow I plan on taking a zumba tone class which should be yet another interesting class.
